Root Removal and Damage Repair

"When solving problems, dig at the roots instead of just hacking at the leaves " – Anthony J. D’Angelo.

Mature bushes and trees add can much to an area, but roots can be especially deep or extensive. Roots love water and drains waste adds nutrients as well. Roots are one of the most common causes of blockages.

Roots will seek these out and can cause expensive damage to underground pipes. They will seek the moisture evaporating from the soil around pipes, often at a crack or open/displaced joint and enter the pipe. A root mesh can develop acting as a net trapping FOG (fats, oils, grease), paper, etc. and a thicker root mass or stem can close a pipe.

Left unattended, as well as the obvious effect on discharge flow, the roots can collapse the pipe or open joints leading to more expensive, urgent remedial work. Our specially trained teams can use their high pressure jets with special rotary cutting heads to remove roots, lime scale and cement deposits and then clean the run and flush the debris away out to the main sewer.

Regular cleaning of external drain runs can help stop the development of root problems – see PPM section.Roots Us mass roots
